Apprentice Lineworker

Crawford Electric Cooperative, a member-owned electric utility serving our local communities, is seeking qualified applicants for an immediate, full-time Apprentice Lineworker position. This position participates in the cooperative’s structured apprenticeship program leading to Journeyman Lineworker status and provides hands-on training, progressive skill development, and the opportunity to build a long-term career serving our local communities.

Applicants should be pending or recent graduates of an accredited lineworker training program or individuals currently working in a formal apprenticeship. Post-secondary technical education or experience in the electric utility industry is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

The successful candidate must be available for on-call response and reside, or be willing to relocate, within 40 minutes (normal travel time) of our Bourbon office.

Applicants should demonstrate an understanding of safe work practices related to electrical distribution and familiarity with OSHA regulations, Rural Utilities Service (RUS) standards, and the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC). A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and an excellent driving record are required. Candidates must obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and pole-top/bucket truck rescue certifications. Basic computer skills are also required. Crawford Electric Cooperative maintains a strong commitment to safety, training, and professional development. This position involves physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions and requires the ability to work at heights and respond to emergency outages.

Wages and benefits are governed by contract with IBEW Local 2.
