Job Description - Apprentice Sign Maker

Job Summary

Blue Ocean Custom Signs is growing and seeking a professional, self-motivated team player with great interpersonal skills who values delivering excellence. This position is for the person seeking a new career path or who has signmaking-adjacent experience. You are detail-oriented, work well in a fast-paced team environment, and are able to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously. You are confident and open to learning, and not afraid to work hard, collaborate with a talented team, and most importantly, have fun!

Responsibilities

Sign production and potentially design, learning from and working with our experienced team

Full-time availability (40 hours/week)

Consult/interface with customers as needed

Answer phones as needed

Maintain cleanliness and organization of manufacturing/production area

Assist in maintaining company equipment

Accurately keep track of electronic and paper records related to jobs

Learn new technologies, skills, and techniques

Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in a service-related, people-facing industry

Demonstrable mechanical aptitude - you like to work with your hands and can learn

Graphic design experience a plus (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)

Good computer skills

Compensation: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
