Position Overview:
The Automotive Apprentice Technician role provides hands-on experience and training for individuals who are passionate about the automotive industry and eager to pursue a career as a certified technician. This role is designed to develop your technical skills through mentorship and real-world experience, with the goal of advancing you to a full-time certified technician.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist certified technicians with repairs and maintenance on Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Perform basic services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and other routine tasks.
Learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot automotive issues under the guidance of experienced technicians.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
Use diagnostic tools and equipment to assess vehicle conditions.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance technical skills.
Provide exceptional customer service by delivering high-quality work and maintaining open communication with the service team.
Keep up-to-date with Mercedes-Benz product knowledge and service techniques.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training is a plus.
A passion for the automotive industry and a strong desire to learn and develop technical skills.
Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of vehicle systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
Strong communication skills and a willingness to take direction from experienced technicians.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
Prior automotive experience, even in a non-professional setting, is a plus but not required.
