Architectural Designer/Draftsperson

Foster Remodeling Solutions, Inc., a progressive Northern Virginia Design/Build Remodeling in business for over 42 years is currently recruiting for an Architectural Designer/Draftsperson to join our team. Position requires self-motivated, optimistic team player who is willing to see projects through to completion and has experience using Chief Architect or other CAD design software.

*Please note, this is not a remote position, candidates living in the DC Metro area must work in our office located in Lorton, VA. 

We seek an Architectural Designer/Draftsperson who is:

• Familiar with Chief Architect or other CAD software


• Detail oriented with high standards for accuracy 
  


• Has experience with residential remodeling
  


• Excellent planner/organizer 
  


• Able to multi-task
  


• Familiar with current building codes


• Flexible and effective in communications

Responsibilities Include:

• Obtaining on-site measurements to create as-built drawings 
  


• Preparing preliminary design schemes and renderings for residential remodeling projects
  


• Completion of permit ready construction drawings
  


• Consulting with structural engineers and county planning reviewers
  


• Expediting building permits.


• Some estimating may be required, training available.

3 years minimum residential design and drafting experience preferred. Knowledge of IRC building codes and Chief Architect or other CAD software is required.
