Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microfiche, Microfilm, and Document Conversion Specialist to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT. The successful candidate will be responsible for converting microfiche, microfilm, and physical documents into digital formats using specialized scanning equipment. This role requires careful handling of delicate media, a strong commitment to quality, and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain scanning equipment to digitize microfiche, microfilm, and paper documents.


• Handle delicate media with care to prevent damage during the conversion process.


• Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness of digitized files.


• Organize and catalog digital files for efficient retrieval and storage.


• Adhere to security protocols and maintain confidentiality of sensitive materials.


• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and client requirements.


• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report maintenance needs to supervisors.


• Follow standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with contract specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications preferred.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.


• Ability to handle delicate materials with care and precision.


• Familiarity with scanning equipment and basic computer skills (e.g., file management, imaging software).


• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (required).


• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


• Prior experience with microfiche, microfilm, or document conversion is a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while operating scanning equipment.


• Manual dexterity to handle fragile media without causing damage.


• Ability to lift and move boxes or materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Location

This position is based in Salt Lake City, UT. Candidates must be able to work on-site.
