Area Equipment Lead

Job Title: Area Equipment Lead - Cleaning and Sanitation FLSA Status: 

Department: Manufacturing Reports To: Manager/Supervisor 

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Area Equipment Lead to oversee the cleaning and sanitation processes within our manufacturing facility. This role is critical to ensuring that our equipment meets the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, contributing to the overall safety and quality of our products.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Management:

1. Oversee the cleaning and sanitation of all manufacturing equipment in the assigned area.
2. Ensure all equipment is maintained and cleaned according to company standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Develop and implement cleaning schedules to ensure equipment is cleaned in a timely manner.

Compliance and Standards:

1. Ensure all cleaning and sanitation processes comply with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), FDA regulations, and other relevant industry standards.
2. Monitor and maintain cleaning logs, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
3. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with sanitation protocols.

Team Leadership:

1. Supervise and train cleaning and sanitation staff on proper procedures and safety protocols.
2. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to best practices.
3. Coordinate with other department leads to ensure seamless operations and communication.

Safety and Quality Assurance:

1. Implement and enforce safety protocols to protect staff and maintain a safe working environment.
2. Identify potential hazards and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
3. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address any issues related to equipment cleanliness and sanitation.

Performance Metrics:

1. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment cleanliness and sanitation.
2. Ensure all cleaning and sanitation activities meet the following metrics:
3. Timeliness: Adhere to cleaning schedules without causing delays in production.
4. Effectiveness: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, verified through regular inspections and microbiological testing.
5. Safety Compliance: Zero incidents of safety violations or contamination due to improper cleaning practices.
6. Documentation: 100% accuracy in cleaning logs and compliance records.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in sanitation or industrial hygiene preferred.
2. 2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
3. 21. Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA regulations, and industry best practices for cleaning and sanitation.
4. 22. Excellent leadership and communication skills.
5. 23. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. 24. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
• Exposure to cleaning chemicals and manufacturing environments.
