Area Manager, Consumer Engagement

The Area Manager, Consumer Engagement professional is responsible for managing hearing implant referrals and leads across a designated region while cultivating strong business relationships with key centers and customers. This role provides leadership and supervision to Engagement team members, supports strategic initiatives to expand the sales funnel, and collaborates closely with regional leadership and cross-functional teams. The position requires frequent interaction with candidates, clinics, and internal stakeholders, as well as active participation in special projects and process-improvement efforts that advance consumer engagement and sales outcomes.

• Manage hearing implant referrals and leads in partnership with key centers and regional customers.
• Build and maintain strong business relationships with key center customers.
• Supervise Engagement team members within assigned territory or region.
• Strategize with regional and Engagement teams to expand the sales funnel.
• Contribute ideas and insights to strengthen Engagement team initiatives.
• Collaborate with RDU departments to support Engagement team needs and projects.
• Lead program management for special projects supporting sales teams.
• Use CRM daily to track, manage, and document leads and interactions.
• Conduct frequent meetings with candidates and key center clinics to maintain partnership alignment.
• Hold regular meetings and touchpoints with Consumer Engagement Managers (CEMs) who are direct reports.
• Communicate regularly with the Director of Consumer Engagement, Associate Directors, and Regional Directors.
• Attend Engagement and Regional Meetings as required.
• Travel throughout the designated region to support sales and engagement activities.
• Provide leadership support, including process development, initiative advancement, and team coverage during leaves or vacations.
• Provide content, project requests, and follow-up for consumer-related marketing materials.

• Master’s degree preferred in a field related to hearing disorders, hearing health care, hearing impairment interventions, or audiology (or equivalent work experience).
• Valid certificates of competence in an area relevant to hearing loss intervention.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of MED-EL technology and product portfolio.
• Proficiency with CRM systems for lead tracking and management.
• Understanding and application of MED-EL sales philosophies (e.g., Integrity Selling, Relationship Edge).
• Experience in the hearing-health industry or a related field (preferred).
• Ability to travel throughout the region.
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and team members effectively.
• Flexibility to support team coverage and evolving business needs.
