Area Sales Officer

Role & Responsibilities

• Acquire and onboard new merchants across assigned territories using in-person outreach and relationship-building techniques.


• Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions to ensure merchants understand and effectively use our payment solutions.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with local business associations, market leaders, and community influencers to drive adoption and referrals.


• Monitor merchant usage patterns, resolve operational issues, and provide ongoing support to maximize retention and transaction volume.


• Track daily field activities, submit accurate sales reports, and meet aggressive monthly acquisition and activation targets.


• Collaborate with regional managers and product teams to provide market feedback and suggest localised improvements.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Proven experience in field sales or merchant acquisition (preference for fintech, payments, or banking sectors)


• Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills for face-to-face sales and customer education


• Ability to navigate semi-urban and rural markets with minimal supervision


• Fluency in Nepali and English (both verbal and written)


• Comfort using smartphones and basic sales/CRM apps for reporting and follow-ups


• Valid driving license and ability to travel extensively within assigned regions

Preferred

• Experience working with digital wallets, POS systems, or mobile banking platforms


• Basic understanding of financial products or payment ecosystem in Nepal


• Local network or prior field presence in target districts
