Job Description - Area Vice President (AVP) - Home Health / Hospice

Area Vice President (AVP) - Internal Only

Coverage area(s): Ventura, Grover Beach, Murrieta, Palm Desert

Position Description:

The Mission Healthcare Area Vice President (AVP) will be responsible for developing business plans and strategies to support the growth of their individual Account Managers (AM) and overall territory budgeted goals. The AVP will have the responsibility of managing their Account Managers and working collaboratively with their operations partners for the overall success of their agency.  The AVP will utilize resources to deliver profitable growth while creating a culture of success and accountability.  The AVP will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, and developing Account Managers.  Implementation of all new programs in their areas and service lines will be a major focus for the Area Sales Manager.  Participation in sales training, sales and program development will also be required.  Area Sales Mangers will be expected to be a resource for their division as well as Mission as a whole. 

Key Responsibilities:

    • Recruit, hire, and train Account Managers (AMs).
    • Develop territories and strategic growth plans.
    • Perform market analysis and stay updated on industry trends.
    • Review AM performance and conduct weekly 1-on-1 calls.
    • Mentor AMs and maintain customer relationships.
    • Monitor resource allocation and ensure budget compliance.
    • Ensure team meets sales quotas.
    • Oversee account data, call logs, sales plans, and performance reviews.
    • Lead business growth and strategic planning meetings.
    • Share financial goals with the team.
    • Maintain confidentiality and integrity.
    • Exhibit excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
    • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
    • At least three years of experience in health care marketing management preferred.
    • Robust knowledge of referring partner and market dynamics.
    • Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor and grow sales professionals.
    • Understands the Federal, State, and local laws and regulatory guidelines governing home health and hospice operations.
    • Excellent at communication and communicating within a team environment with the ability to interact with a diverse group of individuals.
    • Demonstrates autonomy, organization, assertiveness, flexibility and cooperation in performing job responsibilities.
    • Must be able to function efficiently in a stressful work environment.
    • Able to manage conflicting priorities and proactively communicate with direct leadership.
    • Previous experience in home health or hospice is preferred.
