Armed School Security Officer (SSO) at SR Global Security

SR Global Security is seeking an Armed School Security Officer (SSO) to provide a safe, secure, and professional environment within a school setting. This position emphasizes de-escalation, professionalism, and positive interactions with students, faculty, and parents, while maintaining campus safety and rapid-response capabilities in compliance with SB 1626 standards.

Compensation: $30-$31/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
Benefits: Holidays off
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain a visible armed security presence on campus
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution in accordance with SB 1626 training standards
• Monitor access points and control entry/exit of campus
• Conduct patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, and perimeter
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns using appropriate force continuum guidelines
• Support a safe and inclusive school environment through positive engagement with students
• Observe and report suspicious activity or safety hazards
• Complete detailed daily activity and incident reports
• Coordinate with school administration and law enforcement when necessary
• Act in alignment with SB 1626 duties, including student safety awareness, emergency response coordination, and school site security protocols
Requirements
• Valid BSIS Guard Card (required)
• Valid BSIS Firearm Permit (required)
• SB 1626 School Security Officer Certificate (required)
• Valid Driver's License (required)
• Clean driving record (required)
• Prior armed security or law enforcement/military experience preferred
• Strong de-escalation and conflict-resolution skills
• Ability to work effectively and professionally around youth
• Professional appearance and well-maintained uniform
• Strong communication skills and situational awareness
• Understanding of SB 1626 roles, responsibilities, and limitations
• Ability to remain alert and respond quickly to incidents
