Security Watch, Inc. is seeking qualified Armed Special
Police Officers (SPOs) to provide 24/7 protective security services at the U.S.
Government Publishing Office (GPO) facility in Pueblo, CO. SPOs are responsible
for enforcing access control, safeguarding personnel and property, and
responding to emergencies in accordance with federal post orders and contract
requirements. All posts require an armed presence.
- Maintain access control, screening, patrol, and
surveillance of assigned areas.
- Enforce all post orders, security procedures, and
applicable regulations.
- Respond to emergencies, alarms, disturbances, and
incidents promptly.
- Conduct routine foot patrols, vehicle inspections, and
building checks.
- Perform duties with a high degree of professionalism,
vigilance, and courtesy.
- Provide escorts for visitors, contractors, or sensitive
movements as needed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally using radios,
telephones, and oral reports.
- Participate in pre-shift briefings and maintain accurate
shift logs and incident reports.
- Maintain accountability of weapons and equipment and
adhere to proper use-of-force protocols.
- Support incident reporting, investigations, and emergency
response coordination.
- Perform additional duties as directed by supervisory
personnel.
- U.S. citizen; at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in security, military,
law enforcement, or related field.
- Possess or able to obtain and maintain all required
licenses and certifications under Colorado and Pueblo requirements (including
armed guard and firearm permits).
- Physically capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs,
and responding to emergencies during the shift.
- Proficient in reading and understanding written orders,
incident forms, and post-specific instructions.
- Must pass a background investigation and drug screening.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights,
weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Prior SPO, military police, or federal guard experience.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (or ability to
obtain).
- Familiarity with incident response protocols and reporting
procedures.
- Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
- Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under
pressure.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of interpreting and following rules, post orders,
and emergency procedures.
- Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and ethical
conduct.
