About CILA

Colorado International Language Academy (CILA) is a public charter school offering rigorous academics through language immersion in Mandarin Chinese, German, and Spanish. Position Overview

The Art Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality visual arts instruction to elementary students. This role focuses on skill development, creative expression, and exposure to a variety of media and techniques in a structured, supportive classroom environment. The Art Teacher collaborates with classroom teachers and administration to support student growth and contribute positively to the school community.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate visual arts instruction for elementary students
  
  


• Teach foundational art skills, techniques, and creative processes
  
  


• Create and maintain a safe, organized, and engaging art classroom
  
  


• Assess student learning and provide meaningful feedback
  
  


• Maintain accurate records of student progress and participation
  
  


• Collaborate with classroom teachers and school staff
  
  


• Support school-wide activities, events, and duties as assigned
  
  


• Communicate professionally with students, families, and colleagues
  
  


• Participate in meetings, professional development, and school events
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Art, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Education, or a related field
  
  


• Experience working with elementary-aged students
  
  


• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  
  


• Ability to foster creativity while maintaining clear expectations
  
  

Preferred:

• Colorado teaching license or visual arts endorsement
  
  


• Experience teaching art in an elementary school setting
  
  


• Experience working with diverse student populations
