Art Teacher - Middle and Upper Schools

Position Description: Visual Arts Teacher - Middle & Upper School (Full Time).

Major Responsibilities:

• Teach 5 sections of art in middle & upper school
• Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies to meet the needs of all students
• Collaborate with staff members to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture
• Track student data and uphold high behavioral and academic expectations
• Continuously communicate and build relationships with students and families
• Create an inviting and engaging classroom culture
• Maintain and organize arts supplies and equipment
• Celebrate and display student art on campus walls and through an annual arts show on campus
• Perform other projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

• Teacher should be experienced and knowledgeable in all levels of middle & upper school arts including drawing, painting, ceramics, 2D & 3D art; experience supporting Advanced Placement students preferred. 
• Demonstrated flexibility to develop curriculum in visual arts.
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Arts Education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: 

Three or more years of teaching experience, preferably in middle and upper school.
