Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer specialized in Aruba CX 6300 and 6400 switching platforms, with expertise in routing protocols like BGP and OSPF, QoS configuration, MC-LAG, VSF stacking, and VSX configuration for core switches.

The ideal candidate will also possess a strong understanding of Aruba Central, device groups, and Multiedit functionality. As a Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures to ensure seamless connectivity and optimal performance.

 

Preferred Certifications:

  • Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP)
  • Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP)
Skills Required:
  • Aruba CX 6300 and 6400 switching platforms
  • Routing BGP and OSPF
  • QoS configuration
  • Configure MC-LAG
  • Configure VSF Stacking
  • Configure VSX for core switches
  • Strong understanding of Aruba Central, device groups, Multiedit
 
Contract Details:
 
  • Location: Remote work from home
  • Start Date: April 8, 2024 or April 15th
  • End Date:  May 17, 2024
  • Contract Length: 148 Hours
  • Hours: Full-time tapering to part time flexible hours


Weekly Hours Breakdown:

 
  1. 40 hours week of April 8th
  2. 40 hours week of April 15th
  3. 30 hours week of April 22nd
  4. 20 hours week of April 29th
  5. 10 hours week of May 6th
  6. 8 hours week of May 13th



Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implementation:

    • Deploy, and manage network solutions based on Aruba CX 6300 and 6400 switches to meet business requirements.
    • Configure and optimize routing protocols including BGP and OSPF for efficient and reliable network routing.
    • Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize critical traffic and ensure optimal performance for voice, video, and data applications.
    • Set up and configure MC-LAG (Multi-Chassis Link Aggregation) for high availability and redundancy in network connectivity.
    • Deploy VSF (Virtual Switching Framework) stacking to create a single logical switch with enhanced scalability and resiliency.
    • Configure and maintain Virtual Switching Extension (VSX) for core switches to provide active-active redundancy and seamless failover capabilities.
    • Review any Discover provided documentation and diagrams (if applicable)
    • Discuss and assess the current network architecture and design
    • Discuss and assess the layer 1 network configuration and design
    • Discuss and assess the layer 2 network configuration and design
    • Discuss and assess the layer 3 network configuration and design
    • Discuss and assess inter campus traffic flow
    • Create an ATP Document that includes the use cases and pass/fail criteria
    • Add Aruba CX switches to Aruba Central
    • MDF: − Develop switch configurations for each MDF based on LLD
    • Create change documentation for each MDF cut (u) Create MOP (v) Create ATP
    • Install new core switches, Engineer to review remotely
    • Verify Aruba Central connectivity
    • Discover Responsibility (w) Install modules and SFPs (Discover)
    • Review cut window for GO\NO-GO window
    • IDF: − Develop switch configurations for each IDF based on LLD
    • Provide/Provision the switch base configurations to Discover, and or to Aruba Central for deployment to final switches
    • Verify switch configurations and proper switch operations
    • Create change documentation for each IDF cut (bb) Create MOP (cc) Create AT
    • Install new switches, Engineer to review remotely − Verify Aruba Central connectivity
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering roles with a focus on enterprise-level environments.
  • Proven expertise in configuring and managing Aruba CX 6300 and 6400 switches.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
  • Experience implementing Quality of Service (QoS) policies for traffic prioritization.
  • Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting MC-LAG and VSF stacking.
  • Hands-on experience with VSX configuration for core switch redundancy.
  • Strong understanding of Aruba Central, device groups, and Multiedit functionality.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to network optimization.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
