Job Description:


Aerospace Aluminum Processing LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Paint Preparation Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing aluminum components for painting through masking, sanding, and other required preparation processes in accordance with specifications. The ideal candidate is committed to following detailed work instructions and upholding high quality standards to ensure parts are consistently prepared for successful painting.




This position will be for the 1st shift schedule: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
 



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:



  • Apply masking materials to aluminum parts according to blueprints, work orders, and specifications.

  • Prepare parts for painting by ensuring proper cleaning and surface treatment.

  • Inspect parts to ensure quality and adherence to customer and company standards.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols.

  • Reviews each work order prior to beginning work.

  • Completes all preparation processes for parts according to internal and external specifications.

  • Maintain and perform routine safety inspections on various equipment used to prep parts.

  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Assists with upholding department 5S standards throughout the day and at the end of shift, including emptying trash and recycling bins and cleaning.

  • Follows paperwork flow, QA, Shop Floor, and safety policies and procedures.

  • Attendance is a critical component of position: punctual, regular and predictable.

  • Maintains neat, legible handwriting.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals.

QUALIFICATIONS 


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


High school diploma or general education degree (GED); previous experience a plus.



LANGUAGE SKILLS


English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.



REASONING ABILITY


Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stand; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move in excess of 50 pounds.



WORK ENVIRONMENT 


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.  The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS


Must be 18 years of age or older.


Must be able to pass respirator training and requirements.
