GENERAL SUMMARY
The ASC Registered Nurse Lead serves as the team lead over the other RN staff within the Ambulatory Surgery Center. As a team lead, this position coordinates, assigns and guides the work activities of the other RN staff. The RN Lead monitors work schedules, maintains department scheduling guidelines, leads nursing practice oversight, and trains and mentors new staff. In addition to lead worker duties, the RN Lead also works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/COMPETENCIES
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides or directs the provision of nursing care in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and legal responsibilities as defined by the State Board of Nursing.
- Utilizes professional nursing judgment and takes action to implement plan for nursing care of the patient. Implements medical treatment plan as ordered by medical staff.
- Monitors and assesses the physical status of the patient through personal observation and interaction.
- Demonstrates understanding and interpretation of diagnostic measures such as lab tests, radiology exams, and electrocardiograms.
- Delegates tasks based on skill level and knowledge base of assistive personnel.
- Coordinates admission process in a timely and accurate fashion to facilitate patient readiness for procedure.
- Accurately performs physical assessment of patient pre-operatively and communicates pertinent data to anesthesia and OR RN.
- Monitors work schedules, maintains department scheduling guidelines.
- Leads nursing practice oversight, and trains and mentors new staff.
- Assists management in leading the day-to-day operations and coordination of patient care services.
- Performs other position related duties as assigned.

This will include and not be limited to following the Solaris Health Code of Conduct and all Solaris Health and Affiliated Practice policies and procedures; maintaining the confidentiality of patients' protected health information in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); immediately reporting any suspected concerns and/or violations to a supervisor and/or the Compliance Department; and the timely completion the Annual Compliance Training.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS
- RN license and certification as required by state.
- BLS certification required, ACLS required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of accredited nursing program, BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 1-2 years' previous clinical experience, urology experience preferred.
- Previous experience in a lead role preferred.
