ASDOH - Dental Assistant - Float

A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking an non-exempt Float Dental Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist students/residents and/or faculty.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of operatories used in the surgery department.
• Oversee and track inventory ordering when needed.
• Responsible for organizing inventory, reconciliation and assisting with resolving discrepancies.
• Balance two inventory locations on campus.
• Facilitate equipment check out.
• Provide feedback on supply usage and possible cost savings measures.
• Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality customer service for all campus stakeholders across all communication channels.
• Maintain suction Lines and DUWL.
• Responsible for clinic department closure i.e: transport instruments to sterilization, computer/monitor shutdown, close vertical blinds, turn N2O off, Organize operatories, etc. as assigned/necessary.
• Process biopsies (Oral/Perio Surgery).
• Participate in staff meetings and other departmental meetings such as weekly meetings with students.
• Continuing education course attendance.
• CPR certification course to maintain current CPR certification.

Skills & Experience:

Highly preferred:

• Experience with inventory tracking systems and basic supply change process.
• Strong attention to detail and highly organized.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient with basic computer and data entry skills.
• Previous inventory or supply room experience.

Required:

• Must be CPR and X-Ray certified.
• Must have 2-3 years previous dental assisting experience, CDA preferred.
• At least one year electronic healthcare records (EHR) software experience.
• Knowledgeable in OSHA standards, aseptic procedures, HIPAA regulations, sterilization, infection control, and all dental procedures and supplies.
• Uphold professional appearance.
• Must be flexible, able to change assignments with little direction.
• Must work well independently and in a group environment.
