The Opportunity

As an Assistant Manager of Personal Shopping (Associate Sales Experience Manager), you are a vital architect of the luxury retail experience. Reporting to the Senior Manager and Sales Experience Manager, you will lead a high-performing team to deliver a world-class, customer-driven sales environment. You are more than a manager; you are a brand ambassador, a strategic partner to Personal Shoppers, and a mentor dedicated to the art of luxury service.

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Business Ownership

• Performance Leadership: Drive ambitious sales targets and growth initiatives aligned with Bergdorf Goodman’s vision and core values.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between the team and all support functions within the store and merchant community.  participating in high-level merchandise communications to ensure your department’s assortment meets client demands.

• Market Insight: Analyze business trends and partner with functional leads to pivot strategies in real-time, staying ahead of luxury market shifts.

• Vendor Relations: Build and sustain influential relationships with brand partners, acting with integrity while "positively challenging" the status quo to optimize business outcomes.

People & Talent Development

• Expert Coaching: Lead the training and professional evolution of Personal Shoppers and Assistants, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

• Performance Culture: Manage the full employee lifecycle—from new hire management and career development to providing courageous, empathetic feedback in the moment and during formal business reviews.

• Operational Synergy: Master the daily prioritization of tasks and manage complex scheduling with a keen eye on the promotional calendar and business fluctuations.

The Sales Experience & Operations

• Customer Journey: Oversee the end-to-end client experience, ensuring that every interaction reflects the prestige of Bergdorf Goodman.
