THE MISSION OF WORLD CHALLENGE

Because we believe that Jesus cares for them and that by caring for the most needy we can shine the light of the Gospel that can change cultures for generations. 



Job purpose


The Asia Regional Leader for Orphan and Widow Care supports the World Challenge mission as established in James 1:27 which identifies “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world”.  This position will establish relationships and develop communication strategies to enhance the Ministry’s positive impact towards widows and orphans in conjunction with global partners in Asia, Iraq, and Southeast Asia.


 


Status/Compensation/Benefits

    • This is a full-time, exempt, salaried position with benefits.




 



  • Salary Range

    • Between $65,000 and $85,000 a year based on qualifications and experience.

Duties and responsibilities



  • Develops Memorandum of Understandings (MOUs) to identify roles, responsibilities, and expectations of the Ministry’s support of our global partners’ widow and orphan efforts

  • Builds strong working relations and clearly communicates to better support and understand the cultures, challenges, religious, and political landscapes affecting our partners

  • In addition to monitoring the general care, feeding, and welfare of widows and orphans, ensures partners focus on and provide for education and health care solutions

  • Develops templates and guides for our partners to convey and forcefully report widows and orphans good news/success stories

  • Generates awareness about the ministry and assists with fund raising and partner development

  • Assists in gathering and communicating compelling, God-inspired stories from our partners


 


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or the equivalent experience.

  • Familiarity with developing and negotiating MOUs

  • Familiarity with language and culture of country and/or geographical area

  • The heart to see widows and orphans as special people in God’s eyes

  • Ability to develop influential relationships with those from different countries and cultures

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Superior organization and problem-solving skills


 


Working conditions


The role operates in an office setting with somewhat normal business hours (typically 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m, Monday-Friday). However, there will be need for a flexible schedule as frequent communication will be necessary with global partners, which will necessitate scheduling calls outside of normal office hours.  This position will have occasional domestic and international trips up to four times a year.


 


Physical requirements


This role generally requires no heavy lifting and is performed in a climate-controlled office environment.  The exception to this would involve work in the field.  There will be occasions when the incumbent travels internationally and participates in events with extended hours.
