Job Description

Position Summary

The Asian Director of Player Development is responsible for profitably driving baccarat business at Ameristar Kansas City. This position is expected to identify and acquire new business, reactivate inactive business and grow trips from current, active players. The Asian Director of Player Development is responsible for creating player development programs that support and drive these initiatives and grow guest loyalty. Additionally, the focus will be on adoption of the Boyd Rewards loyalty programming through encouraging and ensuring rated play. The Asian Director of Player Development will strategically use the amenities of the company including gaming, hotel rooms, restaurants and entertainment to attract and build loyalty with a focus on those guests who primarily play baccarat as well as Vietnamese speaking guests.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build loyalty to Ameristar through frequent communication to players by phone, email and in person communications, utilizing Salesforce as the primary tool for documentation of all guest correspondence.
  • Partner closely with Casino Host and Table Games teams to achieve service standards and provide a seamless service experience for baccarat and Vietnamese speaking players.
  • Act as a mentor to Asian Casino Hosts, actively sharing best practices for maintaining and growing business.
  • Meet and greet players who are playing on the casino floor; handling their requests where needed and appropriate.
  • Build customer database and player loyalty through recruitment and retention techniques including actively recruiting new members for the Boyd Rewards program through regularly scheduled visits to the Asian communities, both local and regional. 
  • Provide high level, personal customer service to all Ameristar players.
  • Develop and implement business plans for each quarter targeting baccarat dominant and Vietnamese speaking guests who are considered to be declining in play, prospects, actively playing or inactive.
  • Retain the level of play from VIP level Boyd Rewards members.
  • Host all Casino Host assigned level players at events and parties held at both off property and on property event locations.
  • Act as guest service liaison, handle guest opportunities and resolve situations to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
  • Conduct and attend all regular departmental meetings as well as other related meetings.
  • Be familiar and promote all current and upcoming special events, promotions and entertainment, as well as all casino activities and the Boyd Rewards program.
  • Strive to exceed the expectations of our high-end players by following up on their visits with letters or thank you notes.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Provide assistance where needed to the Player Development Manager and Casino Host Team.
  • Job tasks must be finished in a timely manner according to department standards.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Casino marketing or sales experience.
  • Strong problem solving, mediation skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly overcoming obstacles.
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects.
  • Must be fluent in Vietnamese and English languages.

  • Maintain the strictest confidence of any and all confidential and propriatary information disclosed by an Ameristar entity or by a guest of Ameristar/Boyd Gaming casinos.

 

Required Education and Work Experience

 

  • High school education required; college preferred.
  • 3 years of casino hosting experience or 5 years of consumer sales.
  • Prefer minimum of 3 years high volume customer service.
