Asphalt Crew Member

Drake is hiring an Asphalt Crew Member who wants to learn the paving trade and be part of a crew that takes pride in its work. This is a hands on outdoor job. Asphalt work is hot and physically demanding, especially during the summer, and every crew member helps wherever the job requires.

You’ll learn the full paving process, from preparing the work area and placing asphalt to finishing the surface and operating equipment such as a skid steer and paver. We’re looking for someone who is dependable, willing to learn, and ready to grow beyond one task.

What You’ll Do

• Help prepare work areas, tools, and equipment for paving.


• Shovel, rake, spread, and finish asphalt as part of the crew.


• Learn how to work safely around and, with training, operate a skid steer, paver, and other paving equipment.


• Help with cleanup, traffic control, and other tasks needed to complete each job.


• Follow safety procedures and communicate with the crew throughout the workday.


• Work at different positions on the crew as your skills develop.

What We’re Looking For

• Willingness to work outdoors in high heat and perform physically demanding work.


• Interest in learning all aspects of asphalt paving, including labor and equipment operation.


• Dependability, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety.


• Ability to follow directions and adapt as the work changes.


• Asphalt or equipment experience is helpful, but a willingness to learn is essential.
