Asphalt Laborer

Byrne & Jones Construction operates across the Midwest and continues to grow. We are a family of companies, including several divisions and owned subsidiaries, focusing on asphalt, concrete, sports, and micro-surfacing. We work on projects ranging from minor asphalt repairs to large commercial construction projects. Byrne & Jones Construction can handle everything outside the building—no job is too big or too small.

We need an experienced Asphalt Laborer on our Paving team in the greater Kansas City area.  We are looking for experienced Asphalt Laborers who take pride in their work and want to be part of a team committed to getting the job done right.

Responsibilities:

• Assist crew members in the completion of work where required


• Responsible for ensuring asphalt's proper distribution and leveling during paving operations within the paving crew. 


• Use lutes, shovels, and other hand tools to distribute hot mix asphalt onto prepared surfaces.


• Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, customers, and the public.


• Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures

Qualifications and Skills:

• An ideal candidate will have three or more years of asphalt or concrete experience


• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record


• Class A CDL 


• Willing to work occasional weekends and unexpectedly longer hours when necessary
