POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, inspects graphics, assembles, and test membrane switches in accordance to Work Order Package and department procedures {Electronics/Switches/Circuitry Assembly and Testing}

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Assemble quality membrane switches and other switches as required.
• Hand laminates required material and die cut pieces together per applicable drawings using printed gauges and holding required placement tolerances.
• Sets up and connects connector machine and switch testing equipment.
• May perform tests on switch for functionality.
• Visually inspects graphics and circuit for defects. Segregates defects according to department procedures.
• Shrink wraps and stores circuits along with other items that are not scheduled to be assembled.
• Trains switch assemblers in departmental procedures.
• Follow all Department Work Instructions.
• Follows other work related responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

• The minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or GED or some college/associate’s degree; or one to three years experience; or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. 
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be able to read a blueprint.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
• Able to read blueprints/drawings, good eyesight, manual dexterity, able to follow verbal and written instructions, good communication skills.
•  Electronics/Switches/Circuitry Assembly and Testing experience.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a machining environment that includes moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. Safety Glasses must be worn in required areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
