Assembler

JOB SUMMARY

The Assembler is responsible for the assembly of fuel and lube trucks, and fuel/lubrication beds.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assembles, repairs, and adjusts hydraulic systems, motors, pumps, hoses, control manifolds and assemblies.
• Assembles, repairs, and adjusts pneumatic systems, air compressors, storage tanks, hoses, control manifolds, double diaphragm pumps, and assemblies.
• Assembles, repairs, and adjusts electrical systems, wires, maintains, and troubleshoots controls, switches, lights, fuses, relays, and other electrical components.
• Assembles, repairs and adjusts mechanical systems, doors, hinges, latches, ladders, piping, fittings, meters, etc.
• Keeps work area and tools clean (sweeps debris, collects and disposes of trash, cleans up spills, and puts away cords and tools not in use away
• Completes other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Must be able to work well independently and as a member of the team
• Must understand and comply with safety and PPE standards
• Must be able to manage time efficiently in order to complete tasks according to production schedule
• Must be able to operate crane or other equipment when lifting heavy objects
• Must be able to read and use hydraulic schematics
• Must be able to read, understand, and complete work orders
• Must be able to identify and use correct fittings based on drawings and schematics
• Must be able to perform incidental welding operations on equipment
• Must be able to read electrical wiring and mechanical schematics
• Must be able to analyze changes in chassis and equipment and work with designers to design and fabricate changes to pipe runs and equipment location and attachments.
• Must have the ability to diagnose defects in equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work in an outside environment with inclement weather conditions (including heat, cold, dampness, humidity, etc.)
• Must have excellent vision, depth perception, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and steady hands
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move items or bulky objects up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to perform the repeated motions of reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing beside, onto and under a variety of heavy equipment
• Ability to climb and stand on a ladder while using equipment
• Ability to remain in a standing position for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and hold arms above shoulder level frequently
• Ability to manipulate hand and power tools in areas of limited spaces
• Must be able to work in a loud environment
• May be required to drive a company vehicle on company property

• Must pass a physical test
• High School Graduation or GED a must
