Job Description - Assembler

Job Summary

The Assembler is responsible for assembling and testing products, troubleshooting issues, and resolving problems related to the assembly and testing of valves and related components. This role requires hands-on technical expertise, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test valves and components, partially or fully, across multiple product lines.

  • Apply assembly and testing principles to assigned tasks and follow established procedures.

  • Identify and resolve basic assembly and testing issues; escalate concerns to supervisors or lead personnel as needed.

  • Select and use appropriate tools, fixtures, pressure gauges, and testing equipment.

  • Interpret assembly drawings, work instructions, procedures, and quality plans with minimal assistance.

  • Perform required internal marking or stenciling to ensure product traceability.

  • Access and use computer systems to retrieve engineering drawings, routings, and related work documents.

  • Follow safety policies and procedures, including job safety analyses and equipment operation guidelines.

  • Safely operate lifting equipment such as overhead cranes and forklifts (training provided).

  • Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; complete routine reports.

  • Work in one or more functional areas, including assembly, testing, valve extension, actuators, painting, or pass-to-stock.

  • Create and maintain labor records for all production transactions.

  • Apply manufacturing system tools and guiding principles to support continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Two or more years of experience in a related manufacturing or assembly role.

  • Technical school or college education preferred.

  • Legal authorization to work without employment sponsorship.
