Assembler

The Assembler produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.

  Essential Functions:

· Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements. 

· Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, near misses, and equipment concerns. 

· Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards. 

· Prepares work to be completed by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.

· Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. 

· Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.

· Verify work against engineering drawings, bills of material, and work instructions.

· Identify and report quality issues, drawing discrepancies, and material defects.

· Participate in corrective actions and root cause investigations as required.

· Verifies specifications by measuring complete components.

· Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

· Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

· Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

· Documents actions by completing production and quality forms. 

· Crosstrain in multiple assembly processes and product lines.

· Support other departments when business conditions require.

· Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with coworkers and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, mechanical documents, and assembly drawings.

· Solid mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Basic computer literacy, including labor reporting and production tracking.

· Previous experience working in manufacturing, fabrication, welding, sheet metal, or industrial equipment assembly environment.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position, the candidate is required regularly to talk and hear. Frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, and controls. Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75lbs (overhead crane is available). Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually high, requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
