Assembler II, Cable Assembly/Wire Harness

Are you an experienced cable or wire harness builder with steady hands and an eye for detail? Our client, a custom cable assembly and wire harness manufacturer in Fremont, is hiring Assembler/Operator II team members to build products their customers count on.

In this temporary role with potential for direct hire, you'll build electrical cables and wire harnesses from customer drawings and work instructions, then document what you built. Full training on their assembly process is provided. What matters most is that you can follow a drawing and will stop and speak up if something doesn't match the print.

What You'll Do

• Build cables and wire harnesses from wiring schematics, blueprints, specifications, BOMs, and work instructions
• Check each work order's print, revision, and BOM against the parts and tools in your kit before starting
• Cut, strip, crimp, solder, and terminate wires and connectors
• Use fixtures to position parts and build subassemblies
• Inspect your own work against quality standards as you go
• Stop and alert your supervisor if the drawing, parts, or routing don't match, rather than forcing the build
• Work with supervisors to interpret drawings and resolve discrepancies
• Record labor time and log production and KPI data
• Keep a clean, safe station and follow all PPE and safety rules
• Take part in everyday continuous improvement on the line

 Nice to Have

• 2–3 years of cable or wire harness assembly experience
• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620

Physical Requirements

• Sit or stand for extended periods doing repetitive, detailed work
• Move around to gather materials and reach overhead and low areas
• Frequent hand and arm motion for crimping, soldering, stripping, and handling small parts
• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20–30 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs occasionally with assistance or mechanical aids
• Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Ability to hear instructions, alarms, and safety signals, and communicate clearly with the team
• Work in a moderate-noise environment with soldering fumes; PPE (safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection) is provided

• Ability to read and apply wiring schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical/assembly drawings
• Hand soldering experience to industry workmanship standards (IPC/WHMA-A-610 preferred)
