Job Description - Assembler/Operator II

Description

DUTIES

Assembly Operations:  Assemble and manufacture wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electromechanical components according to work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.

Perform crimping, stripping, soldering, splicing, and termination of wires and cables.  Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Soldering:  Use a soldering iron to attach wires to switches, connectors, or terminal strips.

Wire Routing and Tying: Route and tie wires to form wire harnesses, following color-coded lines or sequential numbers on a harness board. Knowledge and use of various hand and power tools.

Reporting: Maintains logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Skills:  Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent   hand dexterity.

Physical Requirements:  Ability to stand while working, lift to 20 pounds, and handle small parts.  May involve working   with small components under a microscope or magnifier.

Communication:  Good communication skills and a positive attitude.  Proven ability to work as a member of a team or individually   to achieve departmental goals.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in cable assembly, wire harness assembly, or electronic manufacturing required.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
  • Must have experience with soldering. 
  • Skilled in using hand tools, crimpers, and measurement equipment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Strong understanding of electrical wiring, connectors, and cable routing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus. 
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 or IPC/WHMA-610 standards is preferred but not required (certification is a plus). 
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
