Assembler/Polisher - 1st shift

Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for assembling metal components, polishing finished products to achieve desired surface finishes, and operating spot-welding equipment to join metal parts. Require attention to detail, precision, and adherence to safety standards.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Assembly:

· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to assemble metal components accurately.

· Use hand and power tools, such as drills, screwdrivers, and wrenches, to assemble parts according to specifications.

· Ensure the accuracy and quality of assembled components, making adjustment as necessary.

2. Polishing

· Prepare metal surfaces for polishing by cleaning, sanding, or grinding as required.

· Use polishing equipment, including buffers, grinders, and abrasive materials, to achieve the desired surface finish.

· Inspect polished surfaces for defects, imperfections, or irregularities, and rectify as needed to meet quality standards.

3. Spotwelding

· Set up and operate spot welding machines according to job specifications.

· Position metal parts correctly for welding and ensure proper alignment.

· Monitor the welding process to control heat and welding parameters, adjusting as necessary for optimal results.

· Inspect welded joints for quality and integrity, performing rework as required.

4. Quality Control

· Conduct visual inspections of assembled, polished, and welded components to ensure they meet quality standards.

· Identify and report any defects, deviations, or non-conformities to supervisors for corrective action.

· Follow quality assurance procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

5. Safety and Compliance

· Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

· Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and operate machinery safely.

· Report any safety hazards incidents, or near misses to supervisors promptly.

Requirements

Requirements:

· Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.

· Proficiency in using hand and power tools for assembly and polishing tasks.

· Experience operating spot-welding equipment and understanding welding principles.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality standards.

· Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

· Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Physical/Mental Requirements:

· Work requires bending, lifting, reaching.

· Work is performed in a production environment where there will be noise.

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
