Assembly Technician - Aerospace

Blossom is looking for someone to join our assembly team in producing our state-of-the-art aerospace components.

Production and Compliance

• Adhere to the Blossom Machine Production Plan, Build Package, AS9100 policies and procedures, applicable Job Description requirements, and the Employee Handbook.


• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized assembly area, ensuring all products and work areas remain free from Foreign Object Debris (FOD).


• Review the Job Traveler, Build Package, drawings, and applicable customer specifications prior to beginning hardware installation.


• Verify part number, dash number, lot number, drawing revision, special manufacturing instructions, and other Build Package requirements against the Job Traveler and Production Notes. Immediately report any discrepancies.

Materials, Hardware, and Inventory

• Review the Shop Dispatch Report and Out-to-Process Board to ensure required hardware, sealants, touch-up primers, paints, and other materials are available in the correct quantities and within applicable manufacturer expiration dates.


• Properly protect, store, control, and maintain inventories and logs for sealants, touch-up paints, lubricants, primers, and other shelf-life or date-sensitive materials.


• Properly protect, store, organize, and maintain hardware inventories and assembly tooling.


• Identify and report shortages, damaged materials, expired materials, or other conditions that could affect production or product quality.

Pre-Assembly Verification

• Verify hole diameters and edge distances in accordance with applicable customer specifications prior to hardware installation.


• Verify hardware type, diameter, length, and other applicable requirements prior to installation.


• Confirm that the correct tooling, hardware, materials, drawings, specifications, and documentation are available before beginning assembly operations.

Assembly Operations

• Install bushings, bearings, rivets, nut plates, spacers, detail parts, and other hardware in accordance with customer specifications, drawings, Build Package requirements, and the Job Traveler.


• Trim shanks, shave rivets, and apply required protection following installation in accordance with applicable specifications.


• Apply sealants, primers, paints, lubricants, and other materials in accordance with customer specifications and manufacturing requirements.


• Use proper tools, equipment, and assembly techniques to prevent damage, defects, rework, and scrap.

Inspection and Quality

• Perform 100% inspection of assembled parts as required, using appropriate inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, feeler gauges, and custom gauges.


• Inspect and accurately record required dimensions and inspection results on Operator Check Sheets and other applicable production documentation.


• Verify completed work meets applicable drawing, Job Traveler, Build Package, and customer specification requirements before moving product to the next operation.


• Immediately report inspection trends, discrepancies, suspected defects, and nonconforming parts to the Production Manager.


• Do not knowingly continue processing or pass nonconforming product to the next operation without appropriate review and authorization.

Performance Expectations

• Perform assigned work efficiently while maintaining required quality and safety standards.


• Minimize unnecessary indirect hours and accurately record direct and indirect labor time.


• Minimize assembly scrap and rework through proper planning, verification, workmanship, and adherence to established procedures.


• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely production and inspection documentation.


• Take responsibility for the quality of work performed and immediately communicate conditions that could affect product quality, production schedules, or customer requirements.

Required Education

• High School Degree or equivalent
