Job Description - Assembly Technician IV, 2nd Shift
Eaton\u2019s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Assembly Technician IV, 2nd Shift.\n\nThe rate for this position is $21.89 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential. The core hours are Monday through Thursday from 3:30 pm to 1:30 am. \n\n\nThis position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.\n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nIn the Assembly Technician role, you are responsible for assembling, wiring, and modifying work according to specific guidelines for medium- and high\u2011voltage, indoor and outdoor assemblies, breaker and auxiliary compartments, breakers, customer service orders, power modules, and related sub\u2011assemblies.\n\n * Assemble, wire, fit, and modify highly complex assemblies\u2014including non\u2011standard units such as Special Assemblies, Power Company units, and Pull and Switch Sections\u2014demonstrating advanced technical understanding.\n * Complete ISO checklists, quality checklists, customer checklists, feedback forms, and production lists for supervision, drafting, customer service, and engineering, as required.\n * Mount and install electrical equipment and perform necessary wiring operations.\n * Lift, handle, and assemble components involving heavy copper parts.\n * Maintain required Kanban inventory levels and report shortages to designated operators.\n * Inspect all assemblies to ensure hardware is secure and assemblies meet cleanliness and quality standards.\n * Respond to change notices, customer\u2011requested adjustments, and development needs.\n * Support engineering, drafting, and supervision teams with customer\u2011driven development efforts.\n * Work from manufacturing information, electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and written or verbal instructions from supervision or Engineering, following established procedures.\n * Retrieve unit drawings using ENOVIA.Perform other duties as assigned.\n\n\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\n * High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.\n * 1 year of manufacturing experience\n * Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Active\u2011duty military service members are exempt from the geographic requirement.\n\n\n\n### \n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * 1 year of experience in an SG37 assembly role.\n\n * Completion of qualifications through the pay\u2011for\u2011skill program.\n\n * 1 year of experience using hand and air tools.\n * Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing information (MI).\n * South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or an equivalent credential.\n\n\n\nPosition Criteria:\n\n * Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as business needs require.\n * Ability to safely use hand and power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble products and verify quality in a Lean environment.\n * Proficiency with standard computer applications (Microsoft Outlook and Teams) and job\u2011specific systems such as ENOVIA.\n * Strong verbal and written communication, persuasive abilities, and analytical problem\u2011solving skills.\n * Ability to work effectively with individuals and teams in a collaborative environment.\n\n\n\nPhysical Demands\n\n * Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands for handling and feeling.\n * Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, and pull.\n * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and push/pull 50 lbs. or more with or without accommodation\n * Vision requirements include near and far vision, depth perception, and color discrimination. \n \n\n\n\n\n \nWork Environment\n\n * Regular exposure to noise and frequent exposure to dust while performing job duties\n\n\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
