SUMMARY: Performs routine data collection and learns to analyze residential properties to assist in determining correct market valuation for the County Assessor’s Office (CAO).
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Learns to assist Appraisers in the evaluation and assessment of assigned properties; learns to use CAMA (Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal) system and develop classification and valuation of properties.
• Assists with customer services; learns to assist property owners in understanding state assessment and valuation
process; works with field inspection teams and assists with data collection on land and structures.
• Supports the relationship between the Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and
cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Up to 1 year of customer service and computer experience
Required Licenses and Certifications:
• Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
Required Knowledge of:
• County policies and procedures, and state laws and regulations governing property valuation and assessment rules.
• Records management and customer service principles, protocols, and standards.
• Standard and specialized computer software applications, including Geographic Information System (GIS).
Required Skills in:
• Learning the factors involved in the valuation and assessment of land, improvements, and personal property.
• Providing effective customer service and dealing tactfully and courteously with the public.
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other staff, and the general public.
• Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Work Environment:
• Work is performed in a standard office environment, and in the field to evaluate properties.
• Travel is required for Appraisal Certification and Continuing Education.
