Assistant Accountant/Accountant

KCR Solutions are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice for an experienced Accountant/Assistant Accountant to join their successful team.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to managing client relationships. They will be comfortable working to deadlines, managing their own workload, and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of clients.


• Produce corporation tax computations accurately and to a high standard.


• Prepare and submit VAT returns.


• Produce management accounts and financial reports for clients.


• Review client accounting records and identify opportunities for process improvements and software efficiencies.


• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients.


• Provide support and advice on accounting systems and best practices.


• Work both within the office and at client premises when required.


• Ensure all work is completed within agreed deadlines and in line with professional standards. 

Skills & Experience Required

• AAT Level 4 qualification or equivalent practical experience.


• Experience preparing statutory accounts, management accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax computations.


• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.


• Experience using Sage and/or Xero would be advantageous.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


• High standards of professionalism, integrity, and work ethic.


• Full clean UK driving licence.
