Assistant / Associate Technical Designer Handbags + SLG

Description

Golden Touch is seeking an Assistant / Associate Technical Designer to join our dynamic handbag and soft leather goods team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and creative individual with a passion for handbags, technical design, and product development. You will play a key role in supporting the design and production process, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation of technical packages (tech packs) to communicate design specifications to factories.
• Develop and update CADs and technical design details for production and retailer appointments.
• Support the Design Director with color CAD development for specs and presentations.
• Collaborate with the team on trend and color forecasting to influence future collections.
• Organize and track sample development, ensuring accuracy and timely execution.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product developers, and factories, to troubleshoot and refine designs.
• Utilize PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems to maintain and update product details.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, or a related field.
• 1-2 years of experience in technical design, preferably in handbags or accessories.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Excel.
• Familiarity with technical design processes, construction techniques, and material specifications.
• Experience with PLM software is a plus.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
• Passion for the handbag and accessories industry with an eye for design and innovation.  

Hybrid Work Schedule 

4 days a week in the office, Friday work from home

New York Pay Rate $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
