We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Branch Manager to help lead daily operations, support sales efforts, and manage team workflow for a tight-knit team of 5. This is a key leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, solving problems on the fly, and guiding a small team to success.

In this hands-on role, you’ll be on the front lines of our operation - assisting walk-in HVAC contractors and customers at the counter, taking orders over the phone, and supporting outside sales staff.  You will play a vital role in making sure our customers get the right products and the right service, all while representing the ownership-driven culture that makes American Metals Supply special.

What You’ll Do:

  • Support and collaborate with the Branch Manager on staff scheduling, performance feedback, and overall branch goals
  • Oversee all office communications, supply ordering, service calls, and facility maintenance needs
  • Assist HVAC contractors and customers at the sales counter with product selection, technical support, & order processing
  • Support accounts receivable processes: monitor overdue accounts, handle COD transactions, and assist with credit holds
  • Receive and process requests for quotations, orders, and lead times via phone, email, and app
  • Support sales team by preparing quotes, processing orders, and coordinating deliveries
  • Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment
  • Develop and maintain strong product knowledge of HVAC parts, sheet metal, and related supplies
  • Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to improve technical knowledge
  • A major portion of the role is performing Inside Sales activities

Requirements

  

What We’re Looking For:

  • At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in a construction materials distribution, industrial supply, or building products environment
  • Background in HVAC, sheet metal or Industrial distribution strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a small team.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills 
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills 
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in business or related field, and technical discipline, preferred
