Assistant Branch Manager

As the Assistant Branch Manager, you will assume responsibility for the efficient and profitable operation of a branch and its employees. In this role you will provide a high level of customer service, in addition to making and servicing a variety of consumer loans, collaborate with staff to increase branch performance. The Assistant Branch Manager will also uphold branch objectives and performance standards, train and coach the team. 

Collaborate with direct Manager to lead the performance management in the Branch to ensure optimum operating efficiency by:  

• Making routine employment decisions, including reviewing performance, assigning work, providing training, guiding, and advising staff as necessary.   
• Resolving routine personnel problems. Continually working to foster and maintain team environment with Relationship Bankers.   

Performs Banking Procedures: 

• Must be knowledgeable about the banking industry and able to perform various Relationship Banker’s duties. 
• Must be aware of banking regulatory matters and proper operational procedures to keep the branch running successfully. 

Assists with responsibility for efficient management of Branch operations by:   

• Interpreting bank policies, programs, and objectives, ensuring that approved operating policies and procedures are maintained.  
• Continually evaluating operating methods and procedures, making recommendations for improvements, and implementing approved changes.   

Makes and services a variety of loans by:  

• Interviewing customers and compiling necessary information to determine customers’ requirements and the best type of loan to satisfy their needs. 
• Ensuring that all necessary personal and financial data is obtained and properly analyzed. 
• Adheres to and upholds all written policies and procedures of Mascoma Bank, including BSA/CIP and OFAC monitoring and reporting, security, operation, and personnel policies.

Location: This position will be based in our Chelsea, VT branch.

What You Bring  

• Associate degree or equivalent in work experience. 
• Three plus (3+) years of branch experience. 
• One (1) to two (2) years of managerial experience or demonstrated leadership ability  
• Knowledge of computers/strong typing skills. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in problem-solving. 
• Great, positive attitude and likes to work with people on a team.
• Travel to other Mascoma Bank locations is required for training and occasional meetings 
• Flexibility in job schedules and work locations including Saturday and early morning drive-up hours. 
• Professional appearance; grooming and dress consistent with Mascoma Bank appearance policy.   
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy of customer information.
