Assistant Branch Manager/Consumer Loan Officer

The Assistant Branch Manager / Consumer Loan Officer plays two crucial roles: supporting daily branch operations and taking part in consumer lending activities. This position assists the Branch Manager in supervising staff, ensuring exceptional member service, and meeting branch performance goals. In addition, this role is responsible for originating, processing, and closing consumer loans while maintaining strong compliance and risk-management standards. 

Key responsibilities include: 

· Support overseeing daily branch operations, staff scheduling, and workflow

· Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to branch employees

· Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality member service and operational excellence

· Serve as acting Branch Manager in their absence

· Meet with members to identify lending needs and recommend appropriate credit union products and personalized financial solutions

· Process consumer loans within assigned authority levels

· Prepare loan documentation, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage loan closings

· Resolve member concerns with professionalism, empathy, and accuracy

What you’ll bring:

· Previous or transferrable experience in retail banking; supervisory experience preferred

· Prior lending experience

· Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills

· Ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
