In order to be considered an applicant for this position you must meet the minimum qualifications as stated in this announcement. HVCC does not support Visas. Applicants must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States and appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

Qualifications for Employment

Education (Minimum Requirements):  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field; or Associates Degree in Accounting or a related field and a minimum of 4 years related experience.  

Employment Experience Preferred:  Experience with financial reconciliations on computerized accounting system.
 
Pertinent Other:  Banner system experience helpful, but not required.

Nature and Scope of Duties

The Assistant Bursar reports to the Associate Bursar and/or their designee and performs the following duties:

In the absence of the Associate Bursar is responsible for supervising and general Cashier Office operations to include all customer service (counter, phone and on-line)

Preparation of reconciliations and analysis of student account balances to general ledger postings on the Banner system.

Preparation of documentation as needed to support reconciliations

Daily review of student accounts with unapplied payments

Processing of Banner tuition refunds and prepares the related reconciliations

Interpretation of data in Banner

 Responds to student inquires.

Supervises billing and cashiering for all registrations for the College in the High School Program

Manages delinquent student accounts to include sending accounts to the College’s collection agencies and processing collection agency payments

Responsible for responding to student inquiries relative to financial aid disbursements

Performs other duties as assigned

This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $42,000-$46,000.
