The Doe Run Company is currently seeking an Assistant Buyer to support purchasing and warehouse teams by generating purchase orders for stock material, managing replenishment and placing direct purchase orders as required. This dayshift position is located at Central Office located in Viburnum, MO.

The work location may change as needed to support production and business needs within the Viburnum Trend in Southeast Missouri.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Minimum 1 year customer service experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) and ERP (PeopleSoft).


• Positive customer service and communication skills.


• Basic organization skills to support filing needs.


• Time management skills to complete tasks timely.

Job Responsibilities:

• Issue all basic stock orders


• Print and distribute requisitions.


• Manage stock replenishment.


• All required document filing.


• Manage direct requisitions as required for assigned locations, includes quoting material as required.


• Complete tasks in a safe and environmentally compliant manner by following EHS (environmental, health and safety) policies, procedures and best practices; support and assist peers in working in a safe, compliant manner; report unsafe acts or conditions, incidents, and deviations; and provide feedback to support continuous improvement in EHS performance.


• Other duties or projects as assigned.

Work Environment, Physical & Lifting Requirements:

• Regular use of a computer and telephone.


• Work is regularly performed in a standard quiet office setting.


• Regularly sitting and repetitive wrist and/or finger movement, frequently hearing, occasionally talking and standing, and rarely reaching with arms and/or hands. Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and concentrated attention.


• Frequently required to lift up to 5 pounds and rarely lift up to 15 pounds.
