The ACNO is responsible to organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility under the Chief Nursing Officer's direction. The ACNO will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to HBHH's quality standards and policies. This position requires a hard-working and compassionate registered nurse who steadily developed their managerial and administrative skills.

Daily duties include:

  • Patient Assessments, Medication Management, Accurate documentation, Milieu Management, team leadership skills, crisis intervention, health education to patients/families.
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with HBHH's policies and procedures.
  • You will ensure that continuous performance improvement initiatives are designed to measure and improve the quality of care and are consistent with the organization priorities
  • Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the CNO as necessary, concerning the operation of the nursing department. Ensures follow-up to patient complaints.
  • Participate in facility surveys and develop methods of communication of nursing services to other departments.
  • Familiar with JCAHO standards, National Patient's Safety Goals, Infection control, and other compliances.
  • Assist the PI/Quality assurance in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified issues.
  • May be asked to perform additional duties.

Work Environment
This position requires regular walking to various locations within the facility.

  • Must possess a current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Must be able to communicate policies, procedures, regulations.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Team Player
  • Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet).
  • Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Education:

  • Must have completed an RN program at an accredited vocational schools, college, or university
  • Current Registered Nurse license without restrictions
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Master's degree in nursing or another appropriate postgraduate health science degree is required or pursuing a Masters Degree proof of enrollment with a written plan to advanced degree completion in 2 years.
