The ACNO is responsible to organize and oversee all nursing operations of the facility under the Chief Nursing Officer's direction. The ACNO will create a collaborative and efficient workplace with attention to HBHH's quality standards and policies. This position requires a hard-working and compassionate registered nurse who steadily developed their managerial and administrative skills.
Daily duties include:
- Patient Assessments, Medication Management, Accurate documentation, Milieu Management, team leadership skills, crisis intervention, health education to patients/families.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department, as well as its programs and activities, in accordance with HBHH's policies and procedures.
- You will ensure that continuous performance improvement initiatives are designed to measure and improve the quality of care and are consistent with the organization priorities
- Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the CNO as necessary, concerning the operation of the nursing department. Ensures follow-up to patient complaints.
- Participate in facility surveys and develop methods of communication of nursing services to other departments.
- Familiar with JCAHO standards, National Patient's Safety Goals, Infection control, and other compliances.
- Assist the PI/Quality assurance in developing and implementing appropriate plans of action to correct identified issues.
- May be asked to perform additional duties.
Work Environment
This position requires regular walking to various locations within the facility.
- Must possess a current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
- Must be able to communicate policies, procedures, regulations.

- Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet).
- Ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education:
- Must have completed an RN program at an accredited vocational schools, college, or university
- Current Registered Nurse license without restrictions
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Master's degree in nursing or another appropriate postgraduate health science degree is required or pursuing a Masters Degree proof of enrollment with a written plan to advanced degree completion in 2 years.
