The Occupational Medicine Service Line is now hiring for a driven and personable Assistant Clinical Lead Medical Assistant!
The Assistant Clinical Lead MA will assist in the coordination of the day-to-day back office operations focusing on customer service and physician/staff relationships at six (6) Occupational Medicine clinic locations: Emerald (W. Boise), STARs Worker Rehab (Boise Medical Center campus), Garrity (Nampa – near Nampa Medical Center), Caldwell Health Plaza, and Fruitland Health Plaza.
This position will work alongside the Area Practice Manager and Lead Patient Service Rep and will assist with overseeing 8 clinical support staff (MAs and LPNs).

CNA and EMT certifications will not count towards an MA certification.
You will provide clinical leadership and assist the Area Practice Manager with the following:
Mentoring and disciplining clinical staff as appropriate to their professional licensure or certification.
Supporting staff education and development.
Identifying methods of improving patient care.
Regulatory compliance, education, and readiness.
Instructing policies and procedures with clinical functions.
Inventory management of all medical/surgical supplies
Staffing schedules as needed.
Competency and evaluation completion as indicated by their licensure or certification.
Actively participates in network process improvement projects as delegated by the Practice Nurse Lead.
Provides medical assisting care to an assigned patient population under the direction of a provider, RN, or LPN.
Specific Responsibilities for Occupational Medicine:
Attend all required leadership meetings (lead nursing, regulatory, tracers/audits, ACC, harm reduction, and other meetings as assigned). Distill meeting content, evaluate its applicability to Occ Med, and coordinate with leadership to ensure SAHS and SAMG compliance.
Manage documentation for a daily four-site morning huddle via Teams to ensure smoother operations and cross-clinic alignment.
Conduct one-on-one meetings with clinical staff once a month and rounding in-person with clinical staff once a quarter.
Develop and maintain clinic schedules.
Independently manage staffing without access to the float pool, including covering sick calls, PTO gaps, and clinical staffing emergencies, filling these roles when needed.
Assist with recruitment of new clinical openings, such as reviewing resumes and conducting interviews.
Train and onboard all new clinical team members.
Train staff on DOT and non-DOT drug screen collection.
Schedule and coordinate breath alcohol technician (BAT) trainings.
Oversee clinic processes including: vaccine ordering, medication/supply ordering and outdates, stocking and room setup, Joint Commission standards, and perform daily/weekly/monthly audits.
Create, update, and maintain SOPs, EOPs, and clinical documentation.
Staff and coordinate onsite events including: blood pressure checks, vaccination clinics, audiogram baselines and surveillance exams, and baseline and surveillance physical exams.
Superuser for all essential clinic tasks (urinalysis, N95 fit testing, spirometry, audiometry, glucometer, etc.) including tracking and logging all competencies.
Assist with WorkSTARS program including hiring, training, and developing new workflows.

40 hours/week, Mondays – Fridays, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Home clinic is the West Emerald Clinic: 6051 W. Emerald St. Boise, ID 83704
May be to work at other Occupational Medicine clinic locations: STARs Worker Rehab (Boise Medical Center campus), Garrity (Nampa – near Nampa Medical Center), Caldwell Health Plaza, and Fruitland Health Plaza.
Quarterly in-person rounding is at the other clinic locations.
Will occasionally work out of the Caldwell Clinic when space is available.
High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
Previous clinical experience preferred.
*Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification.
