Assistant Community Manager

Job Description - Assistant Community Manager

Assistant Community Manager
Romeo, MI
$19.00–$22.00 / hour

OVERVIEW
A manufactured housing community in Romeo, MI (403 home sites) is hiring an Assistant Community Manager to support the Community Manager with day-to-day operations. You'll be the right hand on-site — stepping in to lead the community when the Community Manager is out, and keeping things running smoothly for residents and the team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Support the Community Manager in running day-to-day operations, and step in to lead the community when the Community Manager is out

  • Help keep homes and the community ready to show, and route every prospect to the right next step without delay

  • Facilitate the paperwork whenever a resident-owned home changes hands — applications and lease signing

  • Help make sure rent is billed accurately and collected on time, keeping delinquency low

  • Prepare and deliver required legal notices and payment agreements in compliance with state law and Fair Housing Standards

  • Build resident relationships that stick — handle issues with urgency, empathy, and follow-through

  • Generate Google reviews, resolve resident tickets, and keep resident ledgers and billing accurate

  • Keep work orders moving so they're resolved within 48 hours

  • Help keep homesites and common areas well-kept, coordinate with grounds vendors, and follow up on mystery-shop action plans

WHY YOU MATTER
This is a 400+ site community, and residents notice the small things — the follow-through you bring day to day is what keeps the place running well and keeps people renewing.

WHAT IT TAKES

  • 1+ year of customer service, sales, or administrative experience — manufactured housing or property management background is welcome, but not required

  • Comfortable stepping up and making decisions when the Community Manager isn't on-site

  • Strong organizational skills — ledgers, billing, and work orders don't fall through the cracks on your watch

  • Working knowledge of Fair Housing Standards and state landlord-tenant law, or the ability to get there fast

  • Comfortable handling vendor coordination and day-to-day admin work

  • A genuine care for the resident experience, not just getting through the task list

  • Clear, friendly communication — you're often the first face a resident or prospect sees

THE PERKS!

  • Hourly pay of $19.00–$22.00

  • Medical coverage (Aetna PPO or HDHP, with Garner reimbursement and HSA options)

  • Dental and vision through Unum

  • Employer-paid $25,000 life and AD&D insurance

  • 401(k) with a 6% company match

  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
