Assistant Designer Women's Sleepwear

Description

We are seeking a highly creative and energetic Assistant Designer, Women's Sleepwear to join our team and contribute to the success of Golden Touch and our internal brands. The ideal candidate will bring innovation, a strong design sensibility, and a passion for creating sleepwear collections that align with brand excellence. As part of the design team, you will focus on creating seasonal direction and developing fresh, on-trend styles for the kids' sleepwear market.

Responsibilities

• Trend Research & Concept Development: Stay ahead of emerging trends and styles, utilizing trend intelligence to inform seasonal concepts for sleepwear lines. Collaborate on design strategies to ensure a competitive edge.
• Seasonal Direction & Design: Develop silhouettes, fabrics, and concepts that align with the overall design direction. Create seasonal collections that fit into color palettes and key product classifications.
• Flat Sketches & Technical Packages: Create accurate flat sketches, as well as detailed sketches for technical packs, ensuring clear communication with the production team.
• Fit & Construction: Attend fit meetings and provide detailed feedback on fit, construction, and styling to the technical team. Ensure timely updates and communication throughout the design process.
• Color & Print Management: Assist with color matching to the color library and printer, update and maintain the seasonal color chart, and organize the color and print library for future use.
• Branding & Presentation: Develop board presentations for seasonal buys, design new hangtags, labels, and branding concepts for packaging.
• Artwork Recoloring & Design Support: Recolor artwork as needed and support the team with various design tasks to maintain consistency across the collection.

Requirements

• Creative & Fashion-Forward: Strong fashion sense with a keen eye for color usage and pattern design.
• Ladies Sleepwear Knowledge: Experience or interest in the ladies' sleepwear market is a plus. However, candidates with experience in other apparel categories are encouraged to apply.
• Design Skills: Proficiency in Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience with PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and PLM software is a plus.
• Experience: 1-2 years of experience in apparel design. Sleepwear experience is an advantage but not required.
• Organizational & Leadership Skills: Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Work Schedule

5 days a week in the office

New York Pay Rate $45,000 - 53,000.00
