POSITION: Assistant Director – Family Resource Center Quality (FRC-Q) Initiative


REPORTS TO: Director of Early Childhood Initiatives       FLSA: Exempt


LOCATION: Concord, NH                                         STATUS: Fulltime

RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Assistant Director – Family Resource Center Quality (FRC-Q) Initiative plays a pivotal role in advancing the quality, consistency, and capacity of Family Resource Center (FRC) services across New Hampshire. This position co-leads the implementation and continuous quality improvement (CQI) of the Family Resource Center Quality (FRC-Q) designation process, while also coordinating professional development opportunities, providing technical assistance, and supporting systems-level learning with the Director of Early Childhood Initiatives.


 


This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting community-based programs. Strong project management, coordination, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to balance multiple initiatives and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.


 


 


Work schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours, Monday through Friday with home office located in Concord. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, with the possibility of some early morning, evening, and weekend work. Must have reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the state of New Hampshire as needed.


 



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



Program Oversight & Quality Improvement



  • Lead the implementation and CQI of the FRC-Q designation process.

  • Support FRCs with self-assessment, action planning, and documentation aligned with the Standards of Quality.

  • Review and provide feedback on FRC-Q applications, narratives, and supporting documentation.

  • Assemble and lead review teams, oversee site visits, and compile recommendation reports for approval.

  • Communicate application outcomes to FRCs and provide follow-up guidance.

  • Collaborate with FRCs to develop workplans that align with FRC-Q standards and support high-quality service delivery.

  • Record all technical assistance (TA) and progress notes in the Department-approved database.


 


Training & Professional Development



  • Assess training needs across the FRC network and develop comprehensive training plans.

  • Coordinate and promote training opportunities, including content development, scheduling, outreach, and logistics.

  • Uphold Standards of Quality, Strengthening Families Framework, and Positive Solutions for Families.

  • Track and report on training participation, certifications, evaluations, and emerging needs.

  • Co-facilitate Communities of Practice (CoP) for FRC staff, administrators, and leaders to support peer learning and continuous improvement.


 


Collaboration & Systems Support



  • Participate in National Family Support Network (NFSN) activities to align practices and share innovations.

  • Support the Department’s approved data platform by providing onboarding, user training, and ongoing technical assistance.

  • Manage user subscriptions and activity on the platform, including monitoring usage and deactivating inactive accounts.

  • Design and distribute satisfaction surveys and other feedback mechanisms to assess system improvement opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the Engagement Team to align training and program goals with community support initiatives.


 


Documentation & Communication



  • Maintain accurate records of trainings, technical assistance, and collaborative sessions.

  • Support the development and distribution of educational, marketing, and branding materials to promote family strengthening practices.

  • Contribute to messaging and storytelling that communicates the importance of FRC services and their impact on families.





EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


 



  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Education, Human Services, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program support, training coordination, or capacity-building.

  • Knowledge of the National Standards of Quality, Strengthening Families Framework, NH Operational Standards and Protective Factors Framework.

  • Skilled mentor and coach with experience in quality improvement or assessment systems.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience reviewing applications and reports.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Zoom, and online form/survey tools (e.g., Google Forms, SurveyMonkey).

  • Experience with user onboarding, database systems, and technical support.

  • Excellent project management and relationship-building skills.


 


Preferred Qualifications



  • Familiarity with the NH Operational Standards and Standards of Quality.

  • Experience working with the NH Family Resource Centers or similar organizations.

  • Familiarity with NH FRC-Q designation processes and statewide systems.



  • Enthusiastic about collaborative work and capacity building.

  • A systems thinker who values clarity, consistency, and storytelling.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and flexibility in approach to shifting needs or priorities.


 


 


 ENVIRONMENT:




The venue of this position is a general office environment that is clean, well-lighted, environmentally comfortable, free of fumes or airborne particles, and only minimally exposes employees to office solvents limited to those relative to copier equipment.


 


 


This position requires the ability to:




  1. Minimal requirement to reach at or above shoulder level; occasional reaching below shoulder level required

  2. Hand manipulation - equipment and controls, frequent; grasping and handling, occasional



  1. Ability to travel throughout the territory required

  2. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include night and weekends

  3. Ability to tolerate prolonged sitting and/or standing and to lift up to approximately 50 pounds to waist high level whenever necessary.

  4. Mobility includes regular sitting, some standing and walking.
