Position Description
Reporting to the Associate Director for Admission, the Assistant Director for Admission will identify and recruit prospective students from their assigned territory to enroll in the University. The successful candidate will be energetic, motivated, organized and work collaboratively with the University community toward their individual annual enrollment goals, as well as the goals for the Enrollment Division as a whole. The Assistant Director has the following specific responsibilities and duties:
Develop and maintain strong understanding and knowledge of the University, its academic and student life programs, and policies in order to communicate accurate and current information to prospective students, families and high school guidance counselors.
Travel extensively in assigned recruitment territory, representing the University at college fairs with prospective first-year and transfer students.
Build and maintain relationships with High School Counselors to promote the University as a strong option for their students.
Maintain ongoing communication with individual prospective students throughout the recruitment process; participate in follow up activities as defined by the Enrollment Division Leadership.
Maintain records and prospective student information in the University’s systems for recruitment and applicant records, ensuring proper documentation and tracking of progress through the recruitment cycle.
Analyze progress against goals for assigned territory, and provide periodic update reports.
Interview prospective students; participate in coordinating campus visits with students and their families.
Evaluate and recommend admission decisions on all applications within the assigned territory.
Conduct phone outreach to prospective students with an average weekly goal of 100-200 phone calls
Complete 85-90% of applications in the assigned territory.
Annually research and develop list of prospective High Schools within assigned region, relying on assessment of prior year results, geodemographic data, and aligned with the profile of students the College seeks to enroll, to formulate an effective and efficient strategy for the recruitment cycle. Monitor and recommend additions to the list throughout the year.
Oversee and manage the Student Ambassador Program, including recruitment, training, scheduling, performance management, and supervision of a team of up to 30+ student ambassadors who support campus visits, recruitment events, and admissions operations.
Coordinate and execute all group tour operations, including managing school and community partner bookings, scheduling logistics, staffing assignments, visitor communications, and on-campus event execution to ensure a high-quality prospective student experience.
Responsible for the oversight of our student run admissions social media accounts
Assist with all on-campus recruitment events, including information sessions, Open Houses, Accepted Students events, and others as defined.
Participate in University-wide events.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Valid Drivers License
Ability to travel, work evening and occasional weekends
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
1 -3 years of experience working in Admissions/Higher Education
Bilingual (Spanish) highly desirable
