Job Description - Assistant Director for JD Advising

Basic Qualifications

J.D. with 3 or more years of relevant professional work experience required

Additional Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for people who have:
Experience in a law school career services office or in a law firm with exposure to recruiting and working with new lawyers
Experience and enthusiasm for working one-on-one with a diverse group of students
An understanding of the "BigLaw" recruiting landscape
An interest in helping students look beyond the "BigLaw" landscape as they think about long-term and short-term goals including moving in-house or into the public sector
Excellent organizational, project management, interpersonal, presentation, and writing skills
An ability to plan and meet deadlines, work independently and effectively as part of a team, have a strong work ethic, superb judgment, and an enthusiastic approach to work

Position Description

As Assistant Director for JD Advising, you will:
Provide comprehensive career counseling to JD students across their 3-year HLS experience
Develop and present live and recorded programming to large and small groups of students on a range of career-related topics
Serve as a liaison to and collaborate with various student groups on career-related projects
Serve as a resource for students interested in business careers and other, alternative careers
Write career-related materials including sections of the OCS website and communications blog

The Assistant Director for JD Advising within the Office of Career Services (OCS) interacts extensively with highly talented students, works collaboratively with a dynamic and creative Career Services staff, and is involved in the day-to-day operations of a vital and fast-paced student services office.

Paid Time Off:
