Job Description - Assistant Director of Admission

POSITION SUMMARY:  Are you the kind of leader who loves to invest in people—training, coaching, and equipping them to excel? Do you want to be part of a mission-driven team that helps students discover Bob Jones University, where they will be trained to impact the world for Christ?


 If so, the Assistant Director of Admission role may be your calling. In this position, you will support the Director of Admission by leading the admission counselor team, ensuring they are fully equipped to recruit effectively, build strong relationships, and guide students through the admission process. You will also oversee selected staff, coordinate counselor travel and recruitment events, manage data systems, and contribute to the development and implementation of the undergraduate recruitment plan.


 This is more than a leadership role—it’s an opportunity to shape a team whose daily work helps bring students to BJU so they can be prepared to serve Christ and make a difference in the world.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training of admission counselors, providing coaching, accountability, and performance evaluations.

  • Supervise admission counselors and technical/professional staff.

  • Oversee counselor travel, on-campus recruitment events, and territory assignments.

  • Monitor recruitment strategies and progress toward enrollment goals using CRM (Slate) and reporting tools.

  • Collaborate with campus stakeholders to support enrollment initiatives.

  • Contribute to recruitment planning and yield activities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and university objectives.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and lead teams effectively.

  • Experience in sales and/or student recruitment strongly preferred.

  • Experience in admissions, higher education, or a related field preferred.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems, data management, and reporting tools.

  • Commitment to the mission and values of Bob Jones University.
