What We Are Looking For

Baylor University is seeking an Assistant Director of Bilingual Family Engagement and Support. The Assistant Director of Bilingual Family Engagement and Support will lead culturally and linguistically responsive outreach, education, and family support initiatives for Spanish-speaking families of individuals with disabilities across Texas. This position will strengthen access to disability-related resources, support family navigation of educational and clinical systems, and foster community partnerships that promote inclusion, empowerment, and flourishing. They will collaborate across research, clinical, training, and community initiatives to expand equitable access and engagement.

A bachelor's degree and five years of relevant work experience are required. Proficiency in Spanish required. A master’s degree and degree years of relevant work experience are preferred. Additional education or experience may be considered in lieu of one another. Bilingual certification or related credential preferred.

All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. 

What You Will Do

• Assist with translation, cultural adaptation, and dissemination of educational materials, toolkits, surveys, presentations, and digital resources related to disability and family support
• Ensure materials are linguistically accessible and culturally responsive for diverse communities
• Plan and facilitate bilingual family engagement initiatives, including parent education workshops, support groups, webinars, and community events conducted in Spanish and English
• Provide culturally responsive guidance and navigation support related to autism, disability services, schools, and community resources
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, churches, nonprofits, healthcare providers, and community organizations to expand outreach to Spanish-speaking and underserved communities
• Represent the Center at community events and support outreach and recruitment efforts for programs, services, and research initiatives
• Support scheduling, logistics, communication, data tracking, and documentation for bilingual engagement initiatives and family programming
• Maintain records related to participation, outreach efforts, and program impact
• Work with administrative staff members as needed for event planning/coordination, purchasing, etc.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty, students, and staff to support community-engaged research, family feedback activities, and data analysis and dissemination efforts related to disability, autism, and equitable access to services
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
• Ability to comply with university policies
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
