Job Description - Assistant Director of Clinical Services

The Assistant Director of Clinical Services works in collaboration with the Program Director and/or Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) Administrator to oversee and implement the overall mental health treatment program in their assigned STRTP. Together, they are responsible for creating a safe, welcoming and sustainable environment for youth and staff.
ABOUT MONTEREY COMPASS
Seneca's Monterey County's COMPASS Program provides short-term residential treatment for children and youth (ages 12-17) experiencing crises, ensuring timely support when it's most needed. Upon enrollment in the program, the Seneca teams work with the youth and support networks to assess the needs and strengths of the youth in order to develop the foundation goals that will drive treatment. Comprehensive services include timely mental health assessment, crisis counseling, and linkage to long-term, sustainable support based on each client's unique strengths and needs. The ultimate goal is to provide mental health / crisis services, suicide prevention, decrease in placement changes and reduction of unnecessary psychiatric hospitalization.

Responsibilities:
Assistant Director of Clinical Services will serve as the STRTP Head of Service.
Maintain a safe, healthy, and therapeutic environment at the STRTP.
Ensure that each youth admitted to the program has a mental health assessment.
Ensure that each youth in the STRTP has commonality of needs with other youth in the STRTP.
Ensure the mental health services identified on each treatment plan are provided and appropriate to meet the individual needs of the youth.
Ensure that documentation and recordkeeping requirements are met.
Provide direct supervision to licensed and unlicensed board registered clinical staff.
Work with program leaders to perform personnel functions for all staff, including overseeing hiring, professional development, evaluation, and termination.
Cultivate effective partnerships with applicable county offices, school districts, law enforcement agencies, emergency services, and other community providers. Facilitate effective training for partners, as requested.
Engage in data-based program assessment activities to evaluate effectiveness and guide improvement.
Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's Equilibrium model training.
Qualifications:
One of the following California licenses in good standing: LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, licensed psychologist, or board-certified psychiatrist.
At least 2 years post-licensure; must be eligible to provide clinical supervision per the California Board of Behavioral requirements.
Prior experience working with children/youth and families with intensive mental health needs.
At least 21 years of age.
TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements.

Full-time, Hybrid,
Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:00pm
Administrator for on-call pool

Starting at $103,434 - $117,434 per year
Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications
