General Role Description

The Assistant Director of Housing is responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative oversight of the Step Toward Success program while providing leadership and operational support to the Director of Housing across the agency's HUD-funded and supported housing programs. This position assists with program oversight, regulatory compliance, staff supervision, quality improvement, and strategic initiatives to ensure high-quality, person-centered housing services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Provides day-to-day administrative and operational oversight of the Step Toward Success program.
  •  Assists the Director of Housing with oversight of HUD-funded and supportive housing programs as assigned.
  •  Provides supervision, coaching and consultation while monitoring services received by all residents in the Step Toward Success program.
  •  Conducts staff meetings, case conferences, and individual supervision as assigned.
  •  Reviews all evaluations, admissions, treatment plans, resident chart maintenance, continuing stays, case conferences and discharges for compliance with agency policies, contracts and regulations.
  •  Maintains on-call status for consultation and emergencies.
  •  Keeps up to date with regulatory or policy changes that impact program activities, goals, objectives and outcomes.
  •  Assists staff with the development of educational activities, groups, recreational, social and other programming that is essential to enhancing resident self-sufficiency.
  •  Supports HUD, OASAS, grant, and any additional regulatory compliance activities, including documentation standards and audit preparation.
  •  Assists with monitoring program performance, utilization, outcomes, and quality improvement initiatives.
  •  Collaborates with internal departments and community partners to coordinate resident services and housing stability.
  •  Conducts weekly staff meetings and case conferences.
  •  Assists in responding to resident concerns, incidents, crises, and emergency situations.
  •  Maintains current knowledge of HUD, Medicaid, OMH, OASAS, and other applicable regulations affecting housing operations.
  •  Serves on agency committees as requested.
  •  Carries out additional duties essential to the above-stated responsibilities as assigned.
  •  Is mindful of and integrates Trauma-Informed Care and its five principles in all duties and interactions with fellow staff, residents, and external partners.
  •  Maintains compliance with all required rules and regulations including Federal Confidentiality (42 CFR, Part 2), HIPAA, Medicaid and/or HUD, and any others.
  •  Regular attendance at work location.

Requirements

Qualifications

  •  Advanced/Masters CASAC or other Non-CASAC QHP status.
  •  Bachelor’s Degree in a social sciences, mental health or human relations field conferred by a college or university whose course concentration is acceptable by the state education department.
  •  A minimum of three years’ full-time experience in the areas of administration, program development, and supervision of substance abuse and mental health programs.
  •  Must possess a valid New York State driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Salary Description

$72,000/Year
